FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
KidOvation Stage Discovery Camp
DO YOU OFFER AFTERCARE?
For Summer Camp, aftercare is available as stated.
As available, aftercare is provided from 3-5pm each day. The cost for this service is $100/week and can be paid on our website or onsite if space remains.
WHAT’S THE TEACHING ARTIST/CHILD RATIO?
The camp is overseen by a very low ratio that will never exceed 1:8.
ARE ALL AGES GROUPED TOGETHER?
The campers are grouped by ages [Dreamers 3-5 & Visionaries 6-8] and spend most of their time apart with their assigned Teaching Artists doing similar activities but at a tailored & developmentally appropriate level. There are occasions when the camp gathers for morning huddle, guest artist/performances, lunch and in most cases, closing circle.
DO CHILDREN GET TIME OUTSIDE?
When weather permits, campers spend about 45-60 minutes outside. We take walks daily within a 5 block radius and the campers have a “Let’s get moving” component outdoors which includes a fun gross motor activity along with unstructured free play.
ARE CHILDREN REQUIRED TO NAP?
Children are never required to nap but are encouraged to rest during our “Brain Break” time. We have 45-60 minutes allotted where campers have the option to nap, journal, read, or participate in calm activity stations or work on ongoing projects.
ARE THERE FIELD TRIPS?
Historically, we’ve done local field trips within a 5 block radius. We visit the library, local grocery stores, playrooms, gardens and more. When the weather permits, the children visit a local playground daily for free play; most of our “Let’s get moving” components are outdoors as well.
WHAT INFORMATION SHOULD WE EXPECT TO RECEIVE PRIOR TO THE START OF CAMP?
Caregivers will receive a welcome letter containing logistical information, a weekly lunch menu (if applicable), schedule, and an activities overview.
