2025 KIDOVATION STAGE SUMMER CAMP ADVENTURES

This summer, we're partnering with DreamWorks Animation, a truly unique opportunity as they've selected only 5 summer programs nationwide for this collaboration. The exclusive DreamWorks Animation curriculum integrates animation into STEM learning, covering character design, storyboarding, and animation principles. We're also exploring field trips and specialists from DreamWorks.

  • Class Size: 18 kids per week per age group - 36 KIDS MAX PER WEEK (Ages 3.5-8).

  • Junior Campers: We will also accept 5 junior campers (Ages 9-11) to be part of our DreamWorks Animation Junior Camper Program.

  • Music Weekly Visits: A certified music instructor from will visit the camp weekly to integrate music into the daily curriculum, enhancing creativity and expression,


Registration:

  • Early Bird Registration:

    • Starts: December 30th

    • By reserving your space today with a 1 week deposit, your family will have until March 1st to select your preferred camp weeks without the worry of them being sold out. This 1 week deposit can be applied towards any week of your choice."

Camp Weeks:

Week 1 (June 16th-20th): The Fantastic Machine Shop

  • Theme: Invent and build incredible machines!

  • STEM: Build Rube Goldberg machines, explore simple machines (levers, pulleys, gears), experiment with forces and motion.

  • Animation: Create stop-motion animations of their machines in action (DreamWorks Animation Integration). Design and build a "mechanical theater" with moving parts.

  • Music Integration: Explore the sounds of machines through rhythm and percussion instruments.

  • 3-5: Focus on imaginative play with building blocks and construction toys, sensory exploration of gears and wheels, and storytelling about their fantastic inventions.

  • 6-8: Learn about famous inventors and their creations, explore different types of machines, and design and build a working model of their own invention.

Week 2 (June 23rd-27th): The Secret Lives of Colors

  • Theme: Discover the science and magic of color!

  • STEM: Experiment with color mixing, learn about light and color, create color wheels and optical illusions.

  • Animation: Create animations using color as the main focus (color changes, color transformations) (DreamWorks Animation Integration). Design and build a "color kaleidoscope."

  • Music Integration : Explore the relationship between music and color through listening exercises and creative movement.

  • 3-5: Focus on imaginative play with colors (painting, drawing, playdough), sensory exploration of different colors and textures, and storytelling about the "secret lives" of colors.

  • 6-8: Learn about color theory, explore the science of light and color, and create a "color spectrum" art project.

Week 3 (June 30th-July 4th): The Mystery of Sound

  • Theme: Explore the world of sound and create musical wonders!

  • STEM: Experiment with sound waves, build musical instruments (recycled materials), learn about acoustics and sound vibrations.

  • Animation: Create animations of sound waves, design and build a "sound sculpture" that can be animated (DreamWorks Animation Integration).

  • Music Integration : Engage in active music-making with a focus on rhythm, melody, and improvisation.

  • 3-5: Focus on imaginative play with musical instruments, sensory exploration of different sounds and rhythms, and storytelling through sound and movement.

  • 6-8: Learn about the history of music, explore different musical genres, and compose a simple song or piece of music using a sound recording app.

Week 4 (July 7th-11th): The Amazing World of Microbes

  • Theme: Discover the tiny creatures that shape our world!

  • STEM: Observe microorganisms (microscopes, prepared slides), grow bacteria cultures, learn about the importance of microbes.

  • Animation: Create stop-motion animations of microscopic creatures, design and build a "microbe city" using clay and other materials (DreamWorks Animation Integration).

  • Music Integration : Explore the sounds of nature and create soundscapes inspired by the microscopic world.

  • 3-5: Focus on imaginative play with "microbe" toys, sensory exploration of textures and shapes, and storytelling about the adventures of microscopic creatures.

  • 6-8: Learn about the different types of microbes, explore the role of microbes in the environment, and create a "microbiology lab" with simple experiments.

Week 5 (July 14th-18th): The Architecture of Imagination

  • Theme: Design and build incredible structures!

  • STEM: Build bridges, towers, and other structures with different materials, explore concepts of balance and stability, learn about different architectural styles.

  • Animation: Create stop-motion animations of building processes, design and build a model city or town (DreamWorks Animation Integration).

  • Music Integration : Explore the relationship between music and architecture through listening exercises and creative movement.

  • 3-5: Focus on imaginative play with building blocks and construction toys, sensory exploration of different shapes and textures, and storytelling about their architectural creations.

  • 6-8: Learn about famous architects and their works, explore different architectural styles, and design and build a model of their own dream house or building.

Week 6 (July 21st-25th): The Codebreakers

  • Theme: Crack the code and unlock hidden messages!

  • STEM: Explore the world of cryptography, learn about codes and ciphers, create and solve secret messages.

  • Animation: Create animations of code-breaking sequences, design and build a "secret code machine" (DreamWorks Animation Integration).

  • Music Integration : Explore the use of music in coding and technology through listening exercises and simple coding activities.

  • 3-5: Focus on imaginative play with secret codes and puzzles, sensory exploration of different textures and materials, and storytelling about secret agents and hidden messages.

  • 6-8: Learn about the history of cryptography, explore different types of codes and ciphers, and create a secret code for their own group or team.

Week 7 (July 28th-August 1st): The Time Travelers

  • Theme: Journey through time and explore different eras!

  • STEM: Build time machines (recycled materials), study historical periods, learn about time travel concepts (relativity, time zones).

  • Animation: Create stop-motion animations of time travel adventures, design and build a "time travel portal" (DreamWorks Animation Integration).

  • Music Integration : Explore music from different historical periods and create musical compositions inspired by different eras.

  • 3-5: Focus on imaginative play with time travel toys, sensory exploration of different textures and materials, and storytelling about time travel adventures.

  • 6-8: Learn about different historical periods, explore the concept of time travel, and create a "time capsule" filled with items from the present day.

Week 8 (August 4th-8th): The Dream Weavers

  • Theme: Explore the world of dreams and create fantastical realities!

  • STEM: Experiment with dream interpretation, learn about the science of sleep, create dream journals.

  • Animation: Create animations of their dreams, design and build a "dreamcatcher" that can be animated (DreamWorks Animation Integration).

  • Music Integration: Explore the sounds of dreams through music and sound effects, and create soundscapes inspired by dreams.

  • 3-5: Focus on imaginative play with dream-related toys, sensory exploration of different textures and materials, and storytelling about their dreams.

  • 6-8: Learn about the science of sleep and dreams, explore different dream theories, and create a "dream board" to visualize their goals and aspirations.

Week 9 (August 11th-15th): The Ocean Explorers

  • Theme: Dive deep into the wonders of the ocean!

  • STEM:

    • Build underwater robots and submarines (using recycled materials).

    • Learn about marine life, ocean ecosystems, and the importance of ocean conservation.

    • Conduct simple experiments with buoyancy and water pressure.

  • Animation:

    • Create stop-motion animations of underwater creatures (fish, whales, coral reefs).

    • Design and build a "coral reef aquarium" with moving parts.

  • Music Integration:

    • Explore the sounds of the ocean through listening exercises and creating ocean soundscapes with instruments.
