Let’s Get Cooking!

It’s a heightened experience when learning includes all five senses. For this week’s theme, why not try to spiral in taste?

This, “Dirt in a Cup”, recipe is sure to please any chocolate-loving Kid-O and it’s a neat way to sneak in a discussion about why loving on our planet earth is so important.

*Pro Tip: You cans substitute golden Oreos for chocolate ones and call it, “Sand In a Cup” if your Kid-O prefers the taste of vanilla.

DIRT IN A CUP RECIPE

Ingredients:

2 cups cold milk

1 (4 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix

1 (8 ounce)container frozen whipped topping, thawed

1 (16 ounce) package chocolate sandwich cookies (i.e., Oreos), crushed

Directions:

MIX milk and pudding together in a bowl until blended and slightly thickened; let stand to thicken, about 5 minutes.

STIR whipped topping and 1/2 of the crushed cookies into pudding.

SPOON 1 tablespoon crushed cookies into serving cups.

FILL each cup 3/4-full with pudding mixture and top with remaining crushed cookies.

REFRIGERATE for 1 hour.
