Cleaning Your Face Mask
As quarantine continues, face masks have become part of our daily attire. While you adjust to this new normal, don’t skip the routine maintenance!
Business Insider recommends these cleaning and sanitizing tips (for fabric masks only - not disposable masks) to ensure you properly protect yourself and your loved ones.
1. Rotate use of a few masks and clean them after each use.
2. Use heavy-duty detergent because it is more effective at cleaning soiled fabrics.
3. Store cleaned masks in a covered container instead of out in the open.

Rainbow Art
Rainy spring weather is a wonderful time to talk about rainbows and colors. There are so many ways to explore (and experiment) with color without leaving the house.
We really hope the following ideas inspire you to play around with colors!
1. PAPER RAINBOW
Create a rainbow that has some personality with construction paper, googly eyes and glue, as seen in this, “10 Easy Craft Ideas for Kids…”, CountryLiving article.
2. FOOD-COLORING FLOWERS
You’ll need a few white flowers and food coloring (carnations, roses, daisies, etc…) to complete this activity.
Add several drops of food coloring to a clear glass of water. Simply cut the stems of the flowers at an angle and place them in the colored water. After one or two days, your flowers should transform into a beautiful piece of colorful art.
Once the transformation is complete, challenge your Kid-O to research and explain the science behind what happened.
3. COLOR DASH
Place colorful paper in different areas of the same room to create “color zones”. For example, one corner can be dedicated the blue corner and another can be dedicated to green.
Allow your Kid-Os 2 minutes to find objects that match their designated color zone.
*Pro Tip: To spiral in some literacy skills, have your Kid-O pick a few things from their pile and spell them out or use the object in a sentence.
